Sharice Cannon makes her way to her home on North Street in Hamden after walking three blocks to a convenience store on Dixwell Avenue to pick up some essentials after a weekend blizzard dumped 40 inches of snow on the town, the highest amount in the state. Since her street - like many other side streets in Hamden - was still unplowed after two days, she and her neighbors were homebound. "I've been in since the storm, but I wanted to get out today and see how bad it is," she said, "and it's bad!"
