Ida Sanderson clips on a pair of earrings in the bedroom of her cozy Cape in Hamden where at 100, she still lived independently in 2012. Sanderson was part of a series titled Spirit of a Century which profiled centenarians across Connecticut. A Chippendales calendar hangs on the wall. Sanderson was getting ready to go play Wii bowling with a group of friends as she did every Monday. "Never worry about getting older," she said. "Each phase of your life has a special moment." Sanderson passed away in 2016 at age 105.
