Renowned children's book author Maurice Sendak poses for a portrait in his studio in Ridgefield, Connecticut, in 2006. The studio was decorated with memorabilia depicting characters from his many books, including "Where the Wild Things Are." Sendak passed away in 2012 at age 83.
